Mr. T and I have been doing a really good job of making time for date nights. Tonight we scored ourselves an invite to a big party at the Jupiter Hotel, site of the mister's 30th birthday party earlier this year. We're going to have dinner at Toro Bravo, a very popular tapas restaurant, before heading out to get our party on. These are two very trendy places so I have no choice but to stop in at my local Forever 21 and see if I can't find something exciting to wear.
Surely you've heard of pre-partying. Well, I'm a pre-shopper. I like to check out a store's site beforehand. This is especially helpful at F21 because the sheer volume in that place can be overwhelming. And I only have about 45 minutes to spare today for this little trip. Pre-shopping focuses me and saves time. So here are the top five things I will be keeping my eyes peeled for later today.
1. This open knit front top would look great with a splash of color underneath and maybe paired with skinny black pants or jeans. Plus the drapey front will hide any paunch I may acquire at dinner.
2. I can't tell if this dress is really cool or really ugly. The shape is usually pretty flattering on me, I like the colors, and I like it belted. Though I think I'd use a belt I already own. That one seems like it may look really cheap in person. This is definitely worth trying on though.
3. This wrap dress feels more fall than summer, and again, not loving that belt. But I am interested in navy blue right now and thinking I could feel really fun and flirty in this.
4. Picture this in black. Paired with leggings, this shorty dress could look really fun and sophisticated. I'll have to be sure that the poofy skirt doesn't just end up making my ass look fat. It happens.
5. It's not going to get much above 70 today so it will probably be cool tonight. This belted jacket could be a smart choice. Loving all the belts and feel that I am ready. This would pair well with black trousers, a skirt or even jeans. I'd probably go with jeans.Wish me luck on my shopping trip and I'll share the results next week!

The best thing to do is combine pre-partying and pre-shopping! Have a few martoonis and then hit the mall! I'm sure you will find the perfect date night ensemble :) May I suggest some scandalously high heels with #1?
