Fall 2008 Fashion Tutorial: Purple Accessories

I know it's still July but this past week I felt it. A certain scent in the evening breeze, the way the leaves on my burning dwarf bush are starting to turn bright red around the edges, how I find myself thinking about boots instead of sandals; Fall is coming. While there is still plenty of sunshine and outdoor fun to be had, it's time to begin thinking about my Winter wardrobe. Being the strategic planning kind of gal I am, I conducted an extensive three minute search on Google for the fall trends I should know about and created my Fall 2008 Fashion Tutorial, an eight part series. Are you so excited? Me too. First up? Purple accessories.

It's the color of royalty which translates into sophistication. Dress up your gray, black, and brown neutrals with purple bags, belts, jewelry, shoes, scarves, and even eye shadow. But not all at once, of course. That would be silly.

Personally, I'm on the lookout for a purple coat. The dress above in my Polyvore? Well, I thought that was a coat but it's a dress. But you can be sure that if there is a reasonably priced coat like that to be found, I will hunt it down and make it mine. Loving the gold buttons. If any of you see one, please let me know. I'm also totally smitten with the Chanel cuff and the Pedro Garcia flats.

As you find yourself shopping, keep your eyes peeled for purple. There are going to be lots of great options available at all price points. Pick one and work it in all season and you'll be queen of the streets for sure. I don't mean that in a prostitute kind of way though, just to be clear.
